It snowed and Cory flew away

If I were to be completely honest I would have to admit that there are times in our relationship where I feel I’m getting the short end of the stick. Here in Ottawa we have had the most mild and beautiful fall and winter. Then two weeks ago Cory informed us that he was needed back in KAF (Afghan) for 10 days.  No problem I thought, kids are still in school, the weather is great, how hard can two weeks solo possibly be? A foot of snow, freezing winds  and calling for more snow the day after Cory leaves is a sick cosmic joke.

Feeling my animosity Cory worked very hard shoveling as much snow as he could before he flew out last night. This was the first shovel job in the morning with Jack.

The second shoveling after dinner before he left.

And just so you have a clear picture of how badly the fates have it in for me, here are my before and after shots. The first one is what it was like the day before Cory left, the second is what I woke up to the morning after he flew out.

(Ok, the first shot might be a slight exaggeration, but the second shot was taken this morning).

Ho ho ho….or is it Ha ha ha….I’m glad to here that we are not the only ones freezing our %$@# off and shoveling snow. Although I have to agree with you Nardine the timing does suck. Hang in there girl and just keep piling the snow up for your husband so when he gets home he can get some exercise. Actually looking at how well Jack can handle the shovel maybe just turn him loose.

    Nard,

I so feel for you!! Greg always manages to time his trips when there is a snowstorm. They must have a 6th sense.

My helpful hint: try to go out and shovel when everyone is out snowblowing. Someone typically takes pity and comes to my rescue:)

Promise to respond to your email soon!

Aah, shovelling snow…. I seem to remember what that was like. Jack looks very comfortable with that shovel Nardi…. just as well if he is going to spend his life in cooler climes…. Dad and I have been hard at work getting the house decorated for Christmas. The Bill Kwasny effort is amazing… we don’t think we can come close to that but we’ll work on it…. Just hink Nardi things could have been worse you might have married Tiger Woods……

Um. Call me? LOL! I’ll be here if you need to vent some frustration! I found having lots of books on hand very helpful during the winter months in Ottawa…it doesn’t get better my friend. I need to be honest. It gets much much worse (January and February are so cold that you can’t go out for more than 20 or 30 minutes).

On a more positive note, you look damn fine in that shot on the bike! Good Lord woman!
