Today was a good day. Jack got himself back on schedule after a couple shaky days following his two months immunization, so we decided to pack the family up and head on down to Rainbow Haven beach. After a quick stop to say hi to Moosey McMoose (who’s existence was in serious doubt until we actually saw him) we hit the beach for lunch, sun and a little bit of blowing sand. Dylan had a great time, was soaking wet within 2 minutes and learned all about riptides from her mom. Jack chilled out on the blanket under an umbrella and even managed to take a quick nap. It was great to get everyone outside and away from the house without anyone have a major meltdown (Nardine and myself included) – we may have to make the beach a part of our weekly routine.
Friday was Dylan’s big day as her preschool had it’s graduation ceremony. All the kids received a diploma, a video of the events of the past year (which Dylan loves) and a scrapbook containing all the crafts they did throughout the year. Each class also put on a bit of a recital, singing a song or two that they had learned and have been keeping secret these last couple of weeks. Surprisingly Dylan had done a very good job of keeping the secret as neither Nardine nor I had heard the song being sung around the house. Dylan really enjoyed preschool this last year and you can tell that it has definitely helped her social skills with other kids (not that she really had any problems to begin with but hey it didn’t hurt!) She’s enrolled for the three day a week class next year, along with her friend Charley but until then it’s fun time at home with mom, dad and Jack.
Finally thought you guys might like this picture I took today on our way to the beach. I think it nicely highlights the quality of Nova Scotia drivers.

Congratulations Dylan on your graduation from 1st year preschool, Grandma and Grandpa are very very proud of you, and really like the way you accepted your diploma.
Very glad to see that Baby Jack enjoyed the beach and the sand as well.
Congratulations Dylan on your first graduation. You looked beautiful. We are proud of you. The beach day looked like lots of fun – very windy. Glad Jack is sleeping better.
