As many of you now know Cory is starting his training for Afghanistan and thus will no longer be available to update our blog. Sadly, it falls in my hands. Sad because Cory has been very diligent at regularly updating the blog and I will not be. Cory writes with whit and interest. I do not. My blogs, whenever they are posted will read more like your morning paper. Facts, dates and mostly correct names. But I can post pictures, this I can do.
For those of you who are not aware of Cory’s upcoming mission the following is for you;
Cory has been asked to fill an important position in Afghanistan for the Canadian Forces and will leave summer 2008 for six months. We are very proud of him and he is looking forward to having the opportunity to support the Afghan mission.
Cory’s role will be that of TACP Tactical Air Control Party. His primary responsibility is to liaison between the Army and Air force and help the Army utilize all air assets (this means aircraft, helicopter and UAV’s, unmanned aerial vehicles). He will live and work in the Canadian Military Base of Operations located at Kandahar Airfield.
Cory will participate in 6 months of training before he leaves for Afghanistan. While Cory is gone for the first two month period my Mom and Dad will visit in November for Dylan’s birthday.
I know 12 months alone with two kids might seem a bit ominous, but with great support from our families and friends I’m sure time will fly by and this experience will be a positive one. And whatever I can’t fix a bottle of wine always can.

Ah yes, you are right Nardi, we will miss Cory’s writing skills – he does it so well – I am sure you will prove more than capable in this as with everything else. xx for the cuties
Oh, I had no idea Cory was going away. Makes “The Summer of Cory” even more important. After the bottle of wine, I have full faith that your writing will indeed be witty. The family looks great. Jack is one giant, handsome baby. Love Dylan’s bob. Take care.

I guess Cory that after you taking the summer off the military thought they better put you to work.(your still pretty handsome in your uniform for a married man with 2 kids and Nard you look awesome back to before Jack figure by the pictures we see) Nardine the facts are all we need with lots of pictures of you and the cuties. Dylan looks so grown-up with her new do and Jack is just adorable. We love the Roots sweatband picture.
