It’s been almost two weeks since Cory left for training and so far so good. Or at least that’s how I’m going to try and spin it. Both kids are still alive and accounted for so I must be doing alright. Cory has checked in everyday, says he misses us, I think he’s just nervous that hate being a single parent and I’m going to bolt. But really, with two little kids where would I go? Hmmm I could go to Disneyland. Cory I’m taking the kids to Disney, I’ll call you from Cinderella’s castle. But before we go I’ll give you a recap and some pictures of the past week.
Today we picked apples, a lot of apples. My friend Diane took us out to a U-pick apple farm near Wolfville and Dylan got really carried away with picking apples. I’ll be baking pies for days and then I’ll have to eat them and then I’ll get fat. Thanks Diane, just for that I’ll let everybody know that Diane turned 34 today and she’s older than me.
Yesterday the kids I went to Shubie Park. Its one of our favorite parks in Nova Scotia and during this time of year its quite beautiful with the changing of the leaves. Jack slept most of the walk and Dylan did her best to harass the wildlife.
Around home Dylan has been very helpful, even getting her own breakfast. Next to her cheerios is a bowl of pretzels, but carbs are carbs and she didn’t’ even spill the milk. Jack isn’t getting his own meals yet, but he does love his saucer.

Nardine looks like you are doing a great job as a single parent — everyone looks happy and content — Dylan you are so beautiful in the pic of you in the wilderness — Jack you are handsome also.
Ordinarily I’d be the kind of friend who would be sad about you baking and eating so many pies that it would make you fat, but I think that since you advertised my age to the world…
Just kidding! We had a great time too. Thanks for coming!
I seem to have forgotten about how beautiful Shubie park is – maybe a trip there is soon in the cards for us too!
PS – wish I could be as cute as the kiddies in the photos! Did you look up apple leaves to see if they’re part of the Canada food guide?
