Kwasny Holiday Poem

Kwasny Christmas 2007

(A little Christmas humour to brighten your day)

Twas the night before Christmas at the East Coast Kwasny crib

and nothing was yet ready for the big man in red

The stockings had been hung on the wall with locks and chains

to keep nosey Dylan from opening them again

Dylan was wired and likely wouldn’t sleep

while Jack was dreaming of all the food he would eat

Nardine was half cut and I was well on my way

Tomorrow would be a rough Christmas Day

Then out on the street there arouse such a clatter

we stumbled to the window to see what was the matter

to Nardine’s amusement and my dismay

the snowplow had just ruined my shoveling from that day

Two hours later, the driveway finally cleared

I headed back inside to finish my beer

Then what to my wondering eyes should appear

but Nardine with screaming kids, I knew sleep wasn’t near

We put Jack back to bed, made Dylan lay down

Then Nardine approached with a worrisome frown

“We’ve forgotten a gift, quick quick you must go

Jump into Barbara and race through the snow”

With blurry eyed vision, I started the car

Thank god the Walmart wasn’t to far

As I drove the snow, with not another soul in sight

I thought to myself “what a hell of a Christmas Night!”

Snow Baby Mom, Dad and Jack Jack and Dylan Hold On!
