This was the first thing Dylan said after opening all 400 of her and Jack’s gifts. I explained to Dylan that gifts were not the reason for the season, only an added bonus and we should never take these presents for granted.
As you can guess Dylan did not share my opinions and started opening my gifts. I’ll try again next year.
We were spoiled by our family and friends again this Christmas and after opening a mountain of gifts, most importantly my Espresso machine (thank you Cory) we enjoyed the traditional breakfast of a Xmas morning wife saver. The rest of the afternoon was spent talking on the phone or skype with family, this means you can stay in your PJ’s all day long. After putting the kids to bed Cory and I enjoyed Indian food for dinner.
Cooking a turkey for two seemed and bit overboard but we had a taste of the bird the following day at our friend’s Karen and Kirk. It was their 6 year old daughter’s birthday party. They have a big boxing day open house for all their family, so if we missed our own large, loud, obnoxious and crazy families we had our fill at Karen’s.
Of course this Xmas holiday is very special because Cory is home with us. Next year he will be in Afghanistan and thus missing Xmas, birthday’s, Halloween, Thanksgiving, first day of school and many other Hallmark occasions. I will continue the website with lots of photos for Cory and all the little tidbits of our daily lives. If you ever find this site boring or redundant with photos of the kids you can always check out www.people.com its a gossip mag with a bit more edge.
From our family to yours we wish you a happy and healthy new year!
PS. Jack is going to crawl soon

Well it looks like Dylan is the only one in your family that understands the real meaning of Christmas “He/She who opens the most presents WINS!” Way to go sweetheart. And although I’m sure Jack wasn’t sure what all the excitement was about it looks like he sure enjoyed biting into his gifts. Your artificial tree looks so real and decorated spectacularly…just think you just have to cover it up and it will be ready for next year….WHAT!!!it’s not artificial….looks like I’m going to have to get Dylan working on that as well. Also you guys are the winner this year of the “most presents under the tree” contest, which means you have to give half of your next years presents to Grandpa…not only because he only got 4 presents or that 1 was a rock and 1 was a lump of coal…but just because you love him….right??? Hope you have a Happy New Year evening and look forward to talking to you guys soon.
