i got THREE hours of sleep last night!

Dylan & Jack

Ok, maybe it was more like three and a half! Jack is a good breast feeder, he just needs to learn to latch on quicker and suck a lot faster – but hey, he’s only five days old so I’ll cut him some slack! The truth is that Jack is a very good kid, calm most of the time, sleeps anywhere from 2.5 to 3.5 hours in a row, loves to be held and look around at everyone (especially at Dylan) and is getting better at having his diaper changed without screaming blue murder. It’s still weird for Nardine and I to think that we now have two kids instead of one and that one of them is a little boy (Jack still gets called she every now and then). I personally am happy that the count has evened up in the Kwasny household but I think the award for ‘Most Happy That The Baby Was A Boy’ has to go to the two grandpas, Bill and John. They’ve already had detailed conversations on who is responsible for purchasing what ‘man gear’ and when Jack should start his required training in areas such as fishing, hiking, hockey and so forth.

Dylan Fishing
Nardine’s recovery is continuing very nicely. She’s up and around the house for short periods of time and is still enjoying the pampering that she rightfully deserves. Dylan continues to love the fact that she is a big sister and that she can see ‘baby jack’ whenever she wants. So far her interaction with him has been limited to a quick kiss and cuddle before she returns to more pressing issues like which cartoon is on TV and who is going to go fishing with her.

I’ll get some photos up to the Picasa site shortly – for now hope you enjoy the video.
