Happy belated Father’s Day to all those awesome dads in our lives! The Kwasny clan is back home on the East Coast, just in time for a nice warm summer. Of course since we left two months ago Nova Scotia has had the best spring on record. Yep, that would be about right, because it snowed while we were in Victoria, something it never, ever does.
As you can read below, Cory did a great job being a single parent, I never doubted his skills for a moment. Although I did write a couple of lists and the kids schedule to help him out. But I get the feeling from a couple of the phone calls I received that he didn’t read them. One text from Cory simply read “what does Jack eat?”. I did have to hold my thumb and not write “have you lost your vision?”
I enjoyed my 10 days of peace and quiet. I had a wonderful visit with my close friend Emily, who now lives in Vancouver. And of course 4 action packed days in the Okanagan for Toni and Dean’s wedding. Which was a beautiful affair, it took place at a stunning winery named “See Ya Later Ranch” in OK Falls. My traveling companion Cecily and some other Victoria friends spent one day touring winery’s. Thank goodness we had a driver that only liked to drink beer, so many tastings were enjoyed. My favorite was Burrowing Owl and their 2006 Chardonnay, get some if you can, its delicious.
As yesterday was fathers day we went Geo caching, Cory’s very favorite thing to do. And although it took us 2 hours to get to the cache location, we still had a great adventure once Jack stopped screaming. Dylan made Cory a lovely fathers day pin, which he wore proudly and Cory purchased himself a wheel barrow. Not a bad day at all.
