Yep, it was that time of year again – graduation! Dylan made it through another year at pre-school and I made it through another ceremony involving 4 year olds. We both deserve a drink! As always Dylan would like to thank her family and friends who help her to make this dream happen, she couldn’t have done it without you!
July has been a busy month for us so far. On Canada Day we had Kirk, Laurie, Ethan and Kirk’s parents over for dinner and then together we hit the big celebration in Bedford. Nardine out did herself with a spectacular chocolate cheesecake while I pitched in with my best version of Caribbean rum punch. Bedford once again did a great job setting things up at the boat park and we all (minus Nard and Jack) had a blast. The fireworks were great although Dylan thought a few of them might have got a little to close. She’s composing a letter to the organizing committee with suggestions for next year.
The weekend was filled with birthday parties, of which we had invitations to three at the same time and day. We decided to divide and conquer so while Dylan and Nardine headed to Tyler’s party down the street with magician Mister J, Jack and I headed off to Kate’s princess and pirates party. Everyone had a blast, ate tons of cake and slept very well!
So well the countdown to Afghanistan continues, Nard and I are doing our best to make sure we are ready in time. We spoke with the property manager last week to finalize the details on our house rental. If you anyone how’s looking for a fully furnished three bedroom home in the HRM send them over to this website, just make sure their references and credit are good!
Last but not least – big congrats to Mr. Dario Rossi whose survived his six months at beautiful Kandahar Air Field and will be returning home in a short two weeks, just in time for the birth of Nicole’s and his first kid! Way to go Whopper!

I have never in my life seen such a cool pirate…. you are awesome Jack. Way to go Dilly – another 20 years of schooling and you’ll be done. Cory we are glad to hear that your friend Dario is home safely – nice that he will be there for the arrival of their firstborn.
