The Kwasny’s Fall’s Lake Cabin Trip

Our two cabins

We just arrived home from our first camping trip with Jack, that took place in a cabin, my kind of camping.  These very well equipped DND cabins were located approximately 60 km west of Halifax. Although we forgot to bring a highchair for Jack, he managed to eat most of his meals from the table. Below you can see pics of the cabin and Cory enjoying a nap on the couch. Floor to ceiling pine works for a cabin but becomes a bit much when all the furniture is pine as well. Perhaps camouflage cabin?  Joining us this weekend were our military friends Steve, Heather and their two boys Ian and Alec.

The weather was nice,  the lake was warm and we ate like kings.  The camp provided 2 hours of supervised children activities each day, canoes and had a nice beach, swimming area and playground.

And of course what would a weekend be without some geocaching! The Donaldson Family bravely followed Cory into the woods and across a stream in search of treasure. The kids, assisted by Steve found the cache, and besides Heather losing one of her shoes on the return stream crossing and our having to trespass through someones yard, it was a successful hike.

This weekend also marked our 5 year wedding anniversary. Cory and I both cannot believe how quickly the last five years has gone. It puts into perspective our parents upcoming 35th wedding anniversaries.  I only hope I have the patience to withstand the bad habits and idiosyncrasies for that length of time. Or more importantly, hopefully Cory does.  Perhaps an annual Cruise will ensure a long and happy marriage? I’ll have to suggest that to Cory.

Happy Anniversary you two! You’re still a gorgeous couple. Christian and I will be celebrating our 4th in two weeks!! We are hoping to spend it in Quebec City:)

Clive showed up 2 days ago and we enjoyed a fun day with him on Sunday; he looks great -he’s very tanned and healthy!! We’re all really hoping you guys make it out this way soon – I know Nard would LOOOOVE Ottawa. It’s a terrific city.

Glad you had fun camping. We are doing our first overnighter in a week. No cabin. Sigh.

Wow!!! Now that’s what I call a holiday..5th anniversary, Mom with the kids and Dad sleeping on the couch…does life get any better then that. Looks like the kids really enjoyed yourselves and had a great time. But a TV in a cabin….I’m not sure about that. I’ll bet the kids slept good at night. Hug and kisses to the kids and we’ll talk to soon
