Last Sunday, we experienced a beautiful afternoon hiking up Mt. Finlayson. This steep and rocky climb is a popular weekend event, some people were attempting to run up it. It took the girls and I 45min to reach the summit. Where we took in nice views of Bear Mt. Golf Course, Downtown Victoria and in the distance the San Juan Islands. Unfortunately the descent sucked. Pulling yourself up rocky edges is far easier than scrambling down them. It took us over an hour to get back down. Once your back in the trees, the path is much easier to navigate.
After the hike we were treated to a wonderful dinner by our friend Bonnie. Who claims she can’t cook, but served us a delicious spread.
November is almost upon us and with it Dylan’s 5th birthday. Searching for the perfect gift? I think these photos will give you an idea.
It’s starting to get chilly. The frost will be here soon. Which is fine by me, because back east its staring to rain.

I just love your web site Nard! What a hoot! Cory must just love this – great idea. We also have to hike Jocelyn, Mt. Wells and a few others from my book. And I’m hosting a girls cocktail party at my new condo in a few weeks. I’ll check with you first to make sure you can make it and then we’ll work around your schedule. Ciao bella!
