I have just staggered home from the Bear Mountain 10km.  What an incredible experience. This race is considered the hardest 10km in Canada. And although I’m a 10km novice, it sure felt like the most difficult race I have ever ran. All the clinic hill training paid off, thank you Frontrunners! The race is still in its infancy at year 3, but 350 crazy people showed up to run, in the misty fog no less.

The best part of the run was coming the the bottom of the third and final hill (named Baby Bear) at the 9km mark. I could see the summit an knew that if I made it over the hill I was home free. It’s amazing how fast you can run to the finish. Because what it really symbolizes is no more running.

Can’t wait for next years race.

Hooray Nardine! Good for you! I ran that 10km before it became a proper race. Crazy run! I thought the gross grind was still worse? Maybe that one isn’t in the same category? Dunno. Can’t wait to run with you when you come to Ottawa – you’ll have to kick my post baby body back into shape!!!

    You go girl!
