Dylan’s 5th Birthday

Opening gifts

As you can well imagine Cory and I can’t believe our first child is five years old. Looking back at the first five years of Dylan’s life, which also marks the first five years of our marriage I am amazed at all we have accomplished. This past year in particular has been a new and wonderful experience in many ways. Unfortunately Cory wasn’t present at Dylan’s 4th birthday party either (so #6 should be quite a ripper) so he wouldn’t notice the change as much. But the four year old party is a loud, screaming, messy celebration. The five year old party is much more sophisticated, polite and most importantly, quiet. All the little girls speak kindly to each other, they opened the new toys and shared. They sat down for a long period of time and made nice crafts. Somehow I don’t think Jack’s 5th birthday party will be as calm.

Dylan\'s Party Talking to Daddy Playtime

Bill and Cheryl flew in from Edmonton to spend a long weekend with Dylan and Jack. Dylan had a wonderful visit with them, watching the Santa Claus Parade and visiting the decorated Xmas Tress at the Empress. She also slept over at their hotel which was probably more fun for her than the party. It was really great for my parents to reconnect with them, since they hadn’t really spent any time together since Amanda’s wedding.

It was a wonderful day and Dylan received many beautiful gift. But I’m pretty sure the baking outfit was her favorite!

Dylan..this birthday was 100 time more fun then Grandpa and Grandma & I were so happy to be there to celebrate it with you. Also Grandma and Grandpa Fuller were the best hosts in the world and made our weekend just that much better. Dylan..make sure you save some of the crafts for your dad when he gets home as I’m sure he will be board and need something to do. Hope baby Jacks cold is better and that he is up and around again. Thanks again for the fabulous weekend and will be talking to you soon…Luv Grandma and Grandpa K
